Mae's 3rd Birthday

Sunday 15th May 2011

I've finally found time to post following Mae's 3rd Birthday celebrations last weekend. Mae had been counting the days to her birthday since at least '7 sleeps' and had mastered her own rendition of 'Happy Birthday to Mae' perfectly! The day began at 6.15am with a very excited little girl running into Mummy & Daddy's room singing 'Happy Birthday to Mae' at full volume. We spent 4 lovely hours at Yesterday's World in Battle with her little cousins and some friends from pre-school and the day ended with Mae finally collapsing, happily into bed at about 8pm. A truly successful and very happy day!!

Christmas 2010

Well, I know it's been such a long time since I last posted. Mae is growing so fast and has developed into a gorgeous little girl - interested in everything, chatting about everything and wanting to be involved in everything. She certainly keeps us busy!
This Christmas was different to last in that, having started pre-school, she's is very knowledgeable about all things 'Christmas'....... she knows she has to be a good girl if she wants presents from Santa. She's insisted on leaving him a drink on the hearth and a mince pie for Rudolph (just in case they need some refreshment during their very long journey).
Anyway, I had to find time to post a few Christmas pictures for posterity!

Fun in the Sun!!

Our dear friends, Liz, Andy & Nick joined us for some 'fun in the sun' (BBQ) this afternoon. Mae had a wonderful time in her paddling pool...

Mae's 2nd Birthday - 15th May 2010

Can't believe Mae is 2 already and that she's been with us only 10months. It seems as though we've always been together. Mae had a lovely birthday with family and particularly loved her 'In The Night Garden' cake, made especially by her Aunty Hayley. Thank you everyone for making it such a special day.

February and March 2010

Gosh..... it seems ages since I've posted anything about our darling daughter. I thought it time I added a few recent (ish) pictures onto our blog. They're pretty random but it's lovely to see how she's developing and changing (and so quickly)!

Boxing Day:

Another lovely day, starting with a visit from Claire, Jason and Courtney. Mae had a lovely time showing Courtney what a good cook she is. She wore her new 'pudding' top (present from Nanny B!) to show off her potential cooking skills!! After a very long nap, we all trundled off to visit again with Mae's lovely Aunty Jude, Uncle Chris, Aunty Tash, Uncle Tim and she had lots of fun with Saffie and Bea who had beautiful painted faces for this special occasion!

Our first Family Christmas!

Christmas Day:

It's been a while since I posted but life is wonderfully hectic and Mae's been keeping us VERY busy - she's a little whirlwind! However, our first Christmas together as a family has been so sweet, I had to post a few pics and comments.

Mae found the whole thing rather bewildering at first, hardly even noticing the tree (aparty from the occassional swipe at a bauble) and then on Christmas morning, very quickly, got the hang of present opening and absolutely loved her little toy kitchen. I wasn't sure whether she'd like it but now wish we'd bought something much more substantial as she's hardly left it since. (ps. Note to any new parents reading this - always assemble toys the night before - Will spent a hour putting this blooming thing together on Christmas morning, with Mae hanging off his arms impatiently the whole time!).
