Today we've collected all sorts of lovely items for May to use, wear and play with, all of which, belonged to our gorgious nieces Saff & Bea. Thank you Tasha for donating these prescious belongings for our little May.
Her bedroom really is starting to look like a nursery now and it almost feels as though she's with us already.
We can't wait to receive the Invitation to Travel from China so that we can book our flights and hotels. Our wonderful guide Chris Tao Ping suggests that we may be able to fly as early as mid July. WOW!!
ps. Must make a note to everyone that Judy (Will's fantastic sister) wants to call her Blossom. So, it's highly likely that this will become her nickname............

Letter of Acceptance...
Today we met with our social worker and signed the official Letter of Acceptance. This will now wing its way back to China and confirms that Hui Cheng Jiao really is to be our daughter.
We have decided to call her May Jiao. May seems the perfect name for her as she was born in the month of May, we received details of her in the final days of May and finally, we'd like to honour my Nan whose middle name is May and who is very dear to me. She's poorly at the moment but I think she'll be delighted when we tell her.

The Day our Referral Arrived...
Ok, we have to believe it now.
Today a 'recorded delivery' letter arrived. It contained the most long awaited and prescious information we've ever received - the details of our daughter.
Hui Cheng Jiao, born 15th May 2008. Currently being cared for at Huizhou Comprehensive Welfare Institute, Guangdong Province.
A beautiful little girl aged just one year.
There were three little pictures of her (looking rather solemn) and her medical records. Once we layed our eyes on her, we loved her immediately.

May 2009
Having started this journey in November 2005, coming so close to reaching our dream of becoming a family in April 2007 only to have all our hopes dashed, we really can't quite believe the amazing news received which arrived like a bolt out of the blue ! ..........
We have received this email which had been sent from China to DCSF:
"I'm writing in reference to the Hadfield family, whose case has been discussed with your predecessor as well as yourself several times. After considering every aspect of this family's situation, including their medical circumstances, the patience they've shown during such a long time, as well as other factors of this family, the Review Department finally reached a decision that this family is approved to adopt in China. Please communicate this decision to this family and wait for our matching information."
Having been advised one year ago that CCAA would NOT proceed with our application, this email came as a complete and utter shock and to be honest, one which, we really were very distrustul of!
